I have been working on a document that uses a new term (new for me): "Screen time". And it tells parents to check their kids "screen time" (and their own). Screen time is, as you guessed, the time in front of a TV, or a game, smart phone or tablet.
No computers or TV in the kids room, otherwise they will spend on average 30 hours per week of screen time. I think a lot of folks on this forum spend way too much screen time here. And it shows when they post.
This is a hobby, and if you are not having fun, you really screwed it up. Do something else. Another problem with our hobby is that (as a group) we are aging. And you have a lot that is not aging gracefully, not to mention the eventual nutcase or victim of early dementia.
