I use a carbon push pull setup on my rudder that is attached to the outside edge of the rudder so everything is hidden. Then on the elevator I connect the two halves with a wire and in the center put a metal control horn then ran a carbon push rod to the servo. On all the carbon rods I have a ply support in the middle of the fus the rods run through to keep them from flexing. With this setup there is 0 slop on rud and elev. The cat balances perfect with no nose weight. I did spend 2 years building my esm, pretty mush modifiy everything. Filled in the lightening holes and glassed the wings and tail so I could paint them. Also added 64th in ply to trailing edge so there is no gap between control surface and wing/stab.
