I consider myself an average modeler with a family and a modest income. I have had to become creative in obtaining the things that I want. Example, my first jet (Turbinator) I picked up NIB at the Waco Jet Rally this year at a good price. I flipped a Ziroli B-25 and a few swap meet bargains I ran across to buy the gear and all the servos/electronics for it. Then I saved my scratch for a few months waiting (hoping) that Dreamworks would have another Black Friday sale for the turbine and other items I need to complete it. (Thanks Todd)
With that said, I'm not a guy that can just go out and spend 5-6 grand at the drop of the hat, and have a plane in the air in a month. But with the patience and determination that I have learned from building from sticks for the past few years, I can focus on the goal that I have, and have one in the air in 6-8 months.
