I've been looking a lot into both models. The Syma offers a lot more ease for newbies like me, but at the same time, I don't like the fact that the battery is actually built into the helicopter. I'd rather have interchangeable batteries. Also, while I don't intend to use it anywhere outside my house and townhouse complex, there are several places in my house where I may be able to see the Helicopter, but the remote may not have line of sight for IR (specifically on the Syma S107).

The WL V911 is definitely going to be more difficult to learn on since it's a four channel versus 3 or 3.5 channel. But, it has several advantages over the S107 for very little more money. The WL V911 has interchangeable and upgradable batteries. The remote is also radio not IR. So, losing signal when the remote is out of line of sight is not an issue.

On Amazon.com, the Syma S107 is approximately $20 where the WL V911 is approximately $35. It just seems that the WL V911 would be the better overall option. But, I would like the opinion of those with more time with RC Helicopters under their belt. Which one should I get first?
