I have just received my first "Made in China" ST parts including, amoung other things, a G-75 piston and a piston and cylinder liner for a G-90. I have to say the worksmanship, fit and finish are gorgeous. They went together very well in there mating "Italian Brethren". I agree the long term is still to be shown but I am very pleased so far.

I hated the thought of ST changing because I liked what I had come to expect from the product. I don't understand Macro Economics ( maybe that's why I am a mechanic) and maybe the new owners were responsible for the loss of the Italian companies survivability in the first place. If, in reality, the choices were losing the line completely or the Chinese conversion I think we ST fans are lucky. At least so far they seem to be carring the torch with pride in worksmanship. I guess in simple terms it's our best "second" choice.
