The important bit of any 2.4GHz antenna is the last inch or so, often a different colour. The rest of it is the lead-in wire. This end part is what needs to be mounted for the best view of the TX. If a longer version is available for your receiver, and it would be beneficial to use it on your model, that's the one to go for.
