I have a few of the RCExel opto kill module but never lasted long for me. Eventually they start killing the ignition by themselves so I don't use'em anymore.
Now, granted, I'm a bit ham-fisted but I was shocked how brittle that piston ring was. It may have something to do with fact that I had that motor spinning a 13X9 3blade at 10,500 RPM WOT on the BF110.
I pulled some wires out of my ignition. I went with A DLE30 unit as a replacement. It ran much better with it than the DLE20 with stepped timing. With the DLE20 ignition, it wouldn't idle down well. It would hang on a high rpm for a few seconds before dropping down to idle. Very irritating. They need to ditch that igniiton.
What beam mount kit for DLE20 are you talking about? Its already a beam mount style engine.
