Default Preparing balsa for paint

Hello Guys,
I have a King Kobra (balsa sheeted foam wing) that I would like to paint. I want to use Dupont base coat clear coat, but obviously I have to prepare the basa surfaces first.

What type of primer should I use and should I seal the balsa first?

I have painted several cars so I understand how important it is to prepare the base first. My problem is I don't have the slightest clue on how to prep balsa wood. Also wouldn't a lacquer based primer dissolve the foam under the balsa on the wing?

Thank for the assistance.
