Default RE: Eagle 2 ARF & 4 Stroke Engine?

Tom,

I got the Eagle Friday evening. Ron put the "Y" connector on it already and gave me the charger and the radio. It wasn't the model I called the name of (Comanche) in a previous post. I'm looking at it now. It's an FM radio. It's a Futaba model FP-T6VA. It also says SKYPORT 6A. It has 2 dual rate switches, one for alerons and one for elevator. It also has mixing functions: elevator to flap and flaperon with aleron differential. It has a battery condition meter at the top center position. That'll be handy. Maybe I need one of those installed on the plane too. Or I could just use one of those ESV thingeys. It has enough switches on the outside to make me think it's mom was a porcupine.

Learning to use it will be an education in itself. Flying a plane might be classified a secondary task just under using the radio. ha Under the battery compartment lid it has several adjustment pots.

I haven't flown the plane since I got it, but hopefully will get a lot of flying time on it this coming Friday and Saturday.

Something I forgot to mention earlier about the plane is that the aleron servos are mounted on the wing bottom surface. There are 2 of them instead of just one. I think that's one of those redundant safety measures I may have mentioned before. I have seen plane for planes that use one servo for the alerons. Using just one is fine though.

I have heard of some builders putting 2 radios in their high dollar plane for redundancy. That makes good sence to me.

I hope ya get the maiden flight on the Fokker thiss weekend.
