Auction Fodder......
Marc et al,
Here's something I wanted to bring up sooner but it was sort of "out of site out of mind" until today. While I realize that you are offering freebie listings for the time being and are in hopes that the fee-based listings will help, I am wondering what, if anything, you are planning to do about all of the (for lack of a better term) "auction fodder". I saw some today while looking at the Airplanes > Accessories listings, there were 3 listings for a Tap and Die set. While useful tools, my concern isn't so much that they are in the wrong subject area, but that they are there at all. One of the major reasons I don't bother with eBay for RC stuff for the most part is the overwhelming proliferation of auction fodder. The listings for bullet hole stickers, chemical light sticks, wireless cameras, flag stickers, altimeter clocks, tee shirts, etc etc etc..... (and in fairness to eBay, I went in just this morning and noticed a distinct LACK of fodder in the "Airplanes - Gas Powered RC" category so perhaps THEY"VE done something about it).
The categories you have set up will make browsing the auctions MUCH easier than eBay and I wouldn't be surprised to see the shift away from eBay for R/C auctions. But having to wade thru all of the junk would be a pain. You have some pretty strict moderators for the forums, what about the swap shop?
