Default Classic (Old School) at the Bash

Hello all I am just putting out a quick update as to how we intend to run Classic this year at the BASH. First of all there will be 4 Classes you can choose from.

1)Pre-Novice 1980-81 Rule Book (Any AMA Legal Airplane/Engine/Motor Allowed)
2)Advanced 1980-81 Rule Book (Any AMA Legal Pattern Plane/Engine/Motor Allowed)

1982-83 AMA Rule Book will be used
3) 30K-10 Maneuvers PLUS Take-Off and Landing (1985 or older Design w/Electric or Glow)
4) 42K -12 Maneuvers Take-off and Landing do not get scored (1985 or older Design Preferably Glow 2 cycle)

Now in order to try and make this all work out for everyone we will be flying 4 rounds with the best 3 of the 4 being used to decide the finish order. We are going to fly
Round 1. Fri. afternoon,
Rounds 2 and Round 3 Saturday (Round 4 if we have time)
if not Round 4 Sunday.

I broke it up like this because I understand that it will be a lot of waiting around if your just going to be here for Classic. This way guys that can come Friday and Sat can get at least 3 rounds and so can the other guys that will only be here for the weekend.

Awards- We will be doing plaques like last year with one exception.

We will be giving somebody an ORIGINAL TURN KEY Phoenix 8, Airtronics 10 Channel Radio, Futaba Servos, and Side Exhaust Rossi.

This will be given to the pilot that has the highest average scores in 3 of the 4 rounds regardless of class.

Sponsored Pilots are not eligible to Win this either.

Every year we have concentrated in different areas in order to help our event continue to grow. Hopefully by offering the RTF Combo this will bring everyone out to play.

This would not of been possible without the help of 2 first class modelers that we are lucky to have in our District. Bill Sheets donated the airplane and Chris Fitz stepped up and got us the Airtronics 10Ch. The plane has just rescently been all touched up and looks great. As soon as I get a few other projects out of my way I will put it together and post some pictures.

The Contest is April 25th-27th at the Bear Mountain Flyers in Arvin Ca. More info. can be found in the Pattern Forum as well. I really hope we have a great turnout and of course we will have people like Joe Bridi, Joe Zingali, and Clearance Lee joining us again just to name a few.

Pics and Additional Info coming soon
