I have allways used the 8" wheels in the past without any problems. Also the bearings, but recently , just for a piece of mind, I changed the original bearings for high quality bearings and went with 12" wheels.

As I said, I never had problems but who want's problems away from home.
Allways check you wheel bearings at least once a year.
