As for Vets,, In my mind it's not about money, think of it as just saying Thank You for serving,, Obviously not all vets are in the poor house and need the money savings,, but it's still nice to show appreciation for their service.
As for disabled folks,, if you can verify a financial need then I wouldn't have a problem with it.. Way to much fraud in these areas today to leave it up to the applicant to just check a box. And again, just because you're disabled doesn't mean you're broke. The difficulty in confirming these needs is probably why the AMA doesn't off the program
