I'd go one more than that.... I've built 2 wasp's and a bunch of stick profiles.... put a 1/2" carbon fiber tube down the center of that bad boy and you'll love it for ever.....

If you wanna use the fiberglass cloth... the automotive stuff will work just fine.... You might try to add something to the heigth of the fuse for less coupling...
