MISSION ACOMPLISHED, FINALLY

The GUNFIGHTER has just proven itself to be the ideal most cost effective fighter for operations over my small backyard flying area. I had falsely concluded that the smaller stock battery wasn't powerful enough to use with my "Just Fly At Any Altitude" automatic variable pitch props" under sea level conditions as a result of tests with the PZ F4f and TH F6f. Its lower fuselage drag obviously makes all the difference. I had assumed that my added split flaps made the 51 and the Cats similar in drag - live and learn.

Yesterday, the fine tuned thoroughbred really showed its stuff. The added split flaps had to be adjusted with lower deflection angles out near the ailerons and compensated for with greater deflection angles near the fuselage to minimize the tendency to roll out of outside loops. Knife edge flight was easily as good or better than what I have so far gotten with the fabulous Mosquito, but four point rolls not so much. All landings were easily made on first attempts under the mild conditions.

Out, and filled with JOY!

The following URL brings up the most concise, non-technical (with technical references) discussion about the revolutionary THORIUM PLASMA BATTERY technology I have found on the web. ENJOY! Oh what fun we are going to have in the future of flight!

PS Tests show that the F4f Wildcat can in fact fly very well using the smaller stock battery after all. It's the F6f that proved incapable of satisfactory performance using the Wildcat's smaller battery. Sorry about the above clearly inaccurate statement based on flawed conclusions.
