Mount the Advance motor, connect it up and run it slowly while holding a strip of 400 wet/dry with some oil to take the shaft down just a bit.
It will not take much....keep trying to fit the adaptor as you go but clean the shaft before you trial fit it.
The adaptor does not want to be loose....make it a just-right fit.

Don't think I'd be sanding a precision drive shaft over reaming an alloy bush. I'd be pulling the bush out and either reaming it or machining it in a lathe. You could also make a new bush if you have a lathe...
From my experience, the Falcon spinner I had fitted the Advance perfectly.
