Indatube !..another cause of big voltage drain spikes is 'Cold weather/water'....in the Summer I run my LVC on 3.2 v's and in the Winter I run the LVC on 3 v's. A cold battery experiences a bigger voltage spike draw down, than a warm battery. In winter, when set on 3.2v's I would often have a LVC kick in just on launching the surfer.... Some rc plane pilots experience a LVC cut out , on the runway, whilst attempting take off when the weather is cold...they even have specially designed neoprene battery covers and warmers for the batteries..
I run the LVC on the lower side...as long as the battery cells at rest (after a run) are not below 3.6v's..and the battery is able to be handled (not hot)......all is good ...!
Yep !....love tinkering - figuring it all out -
