What ever happened to even scales? .76, Yikes!
Here is why I was asking. This particular plane will fly on the 7-77 radial, so in "theory", a B-25 or P-61 of the same scale "should" be able to fly on a pair of then, but that doesn't always work out. A 1/8th scale B-25 comes out around 40#, so a 1/5th could be closer to 60#. A 1/7th scale P-61 needs 40-50CC gas to fly well. I would have loved to put a pair of 7-35 radials on it, but not enough power. In the full scale planes, the Corsair, B-25 and P-61 used practically the same 18 cylinder engines. They weren't identical, B-25 used the R-2600, the Corsair and P-61 the R-2800. So in scale, the same engine should be able to fly all three, but that doesnt really work out does it.
From the way it looks now, the plane is scaled to fit the engine, and not the other way around. Make an engine that can pull a plane of this weight, then design the planes scale around the engine. Is that what others are seeing?
