Here is what I got from a really great builder in Florida

For me the final sanding needs to be wet sanded with a much finer grit, I would say 300-400. And to really make sure of a smooth surface mix up a last batch of finishing resin, with a good brush ready, warm the resin and apply quickly. This (warmed resin) will flow out to a glass surface finish, no sanding, no paint, and no primer required.
So I still have some work to do. Will have to send the wife out with some one to get me some finer sand paper.
