BigBird1 - Right, that's what I'm thinking. In addition, the 9 SF Bay Area counties use an even different blend (I believe) which could be causing the problem.

captinjohn - I'm using the RC Model Lube Klotz which is for gas. I do have the other for glow also.

Geistware - It's a special formulation of the gas for California that causes worse gas mileage (-10%), costs more (+20%), degrades performace, degrades rubber component life, etc... . Not good for the consumer and not so sure it does anything for the environment, but it does pad some pocket books!

Bigbird - I'm thinking it's a bad lot, but I don't know anybody else in my area using Klotz so don't know if it's just me or maybe the gas here. I have talked to others ouside of the area that have the same experiences as you - that's why I bought it. I'm happy with the Vavoline and will just stick to that.
