Look at the comments to that article to see what the uninformed think.
Some pretty ugly and ill-informed comments there. But they are no surprise to me. Most people don't have a clue about what is really going on.
I think the pilot will have a tough time getting his turbine waiver if he keeps pulling stunts like that.
