I flew my new Comanche for the 1st time about 2 weeks ago,
I have 2-OS 46 FX for power. This plane sings...........
Plenty of power and looks GREAT in the air.
On the 1st flight I lowered the flaps and greased it in for a perfect landing.
The 2nd flight,,,, Not as good.. Greased it in again but came in a bit hot. As it was slowing down it caught a little air and rose up about 2 feet. A little late to hit full power and up elevator. It still landed soft but took out 1 main gear. Not a big deal. All repaired
The stock retract mounts are very weak. I beefed it up with a hardwood,, drilled and tapped the wood and mounted the retract. NOW,,,,, If I have another bad landing I will rip the wing off.
This is really a nice plane and a real looker at the field........
