I've seen some newer Ryobi 31cc engines that weren't nearly as easy to convert as they used to be. One of the large castings that used to unbolt, is now all one piece necessitating a bunch of cutting and grinding that we didn't need to do before. Additionally, I have seen Ryobi badged equipment with Homelite 30cc engines in them. I also have a newer yet Ryboi, that is completely different yet. It is side exhaust, side intake, and while it needs a little cutting to convert, it is all easy to do and I believe the engine is going to come out much lighter than the old Ryobi. I am going to convert one of those soon, so I'll report back.
