+1 on the lean mixture and/or too much nitro burning plugs.

I refuse use to use OS plugs. I use McCoy and Enya plugs; MC59 and #3 respectively. A few guys here really like Merlin plugs, Dub Jett sends Merlin plugs in his engines so they must be good.
