I think the H9 PA-18 has a wider fuselage than the H9 J3, so the spreader brace on the PA18 is probably the only part that would be different... I have the Robart j3 cub gear on my sig cub, and its suppose to be a replacement for the H9 gear; based on that assumption, the spreader brace is a bit narrower than the H9 PA18, something that could be corrected.
I just got my PA18... one thing I noticed right away, which is hard to believe; H9 got the gear scaled correctly over the Robart gear , center to center between the fore and aft pivot points on each arm scaled is 5.375" H9 nailed it, where as Robart's is 4 5/8" center to center... go figure.
