I was able to fix Noel's APM; its main fault was a cold solder joint on the the new reg. Fixing the I2C bus connector was a bit more involved, but I was successful. I tried to send it back to him; he wouldn't hear of it.
My dad's been down from New York all week visiting; I haven't done a lot of hobby tinkering recently.
