YeeeeeeHaaaaawwwwww!!!!!!!!
Well, after a marathon 2day building, covering and finishing binge, I finally completed this doggone thing......
I don't know what it weighs, but the guys at the field today told me that it feels pretty doggone light.... I will wait and see. All servos are standard size Futabas except for the HS 81 on throttle. Batt pack is a 5 cell 700mah Nimh pack. I put an 8 ounce tank on it to feed the TT .46 Pro (thanks Gator, it runs grrrreat). I made some special mounts for the engine that allow the right thrust to be adjusted pretty easily. It will also allow me to change motors should I ever need to. (don't think I will need to).
After finishing her out, I took her to the field and let a couple of buddies check out all the connections, etc, to make sure that I did not miss anything. The CG was just right the first time, no weight added, and did not have to move anything.
I taxied her around for a minute, and pointed it into the wind. 3/4 throttle and it was instantly in the air. It only took a click or two of aileron and elevator.
After feeling out how it responded, I did some flat spins and even pulled up into a hover for a second or two... (all my skills will manage). I tried knife edge, which it does pretty well, and some aileron rolls (very axial). I finished off this first flight with a three point.
It still needs some dialing in on elevator movement, but I am pretty happy with this one..
I hope ya'll like it.
