Welcome to the hobby. You need to begin by talking with the guys at your field. Find an instructor and ask him/her about what buddy box they primarily use in helping new pilots learn how to fly. Learn with an instructor. Also ask the people at your club for a trainer airplane recommendation. There are several good trainers on the market. IMHO the Hobbico Superstar 40 is a sure winner. It's easy to assemble and it flies and works well. Here is a thread article I wrote for all of us at our club as a reminder of the basics. It's a long read, but good info to help you get started. Take your time to research the basics and get off to a good start with a trainer and a teacher.
