Default Foam board F-4 phantom

Iam working on scratch building a prop jet F4 from a set of scaled up 3 view drawings I have most of the jet built up now. I've run into a problem at this point I know witch location for the motor and prop would look better, but I don't know witch one would be better for performance. I see 2 ways of doing this mid fuselage witch would look better but Iam concerned about the prop not being able to grab air and restricting performance. Or placing the motor on the front of the aircraft witch I could see getting the best performance out of the motor. I was wondering from other peoples experiences what would work the best for me.
