On the cold air induction thing, I picked up a tip from Roger Penske in my younger days. He put a container a round the intake of the V8's in his Transam care that was filled with dry ice every time he raced in hot localities. Supposedly improved fuel consumption and gave them a bit of a power boost. Food for thought. I have not though others have experienced icing up of Saito carbies. Texaco events (slow running engines) in southern climes had this problem a lot, us banana benders used to use tin foil to defect hot air from engine to around the carby. I used to use the exhaust pressure line directed onto the carby fixed the problem
