On driving the ailerons, have you thought about driving them from the LE, with a push-rod going vertical to the servo-arm? Not much possibility for slop in that set-up.
Oh no doubt on the effects of the sun here, I won't use much if any on the wings. I've used black before and there hasn't been any trouble that way. We fly from 4:30-5:00 am and knock off around 9:00 or 10:00 because of the heat during the summer months. So the sun is low in the sky, the rest of the year it's not that bad. Although I would mention that it is a real bother to cover a plane in my garage during the summer, everything sticks to everything at 110 degrees. LOL
I do like your thought on driving from the leading edge. I'll have to think on that for a while. I haven't started finishing on the wing so changes are still possible. My minds eye sees a rod through the center of the chord and bend at a right angle at the leading edge for attaching to the linkage if I understand your suggestion.
