T 28 / M38 Wolfhound
I like armored cars and this one has been on my list for a long time. The T 28 Wolfhound was an experimental job that never went into production. The War Dept. decided the M8 Greyhound was doing a good job and there was no need for another vehicle to fill that need. The prototype also had a Chaffee turret mounted on it, and that one was designated the M 38. Since I already had a Chaffee, I couldn't resist stealing the turret from it for this project. Also, it had the directional cross country combat tires with the chevron tread pattern that I thought was different for a change. My armored car has two interchangeable methods to power it so that it can be driven on the battlefield without fear of R/C failure. You can push it with a stick or pull it with a string -------- none of that complicated R/C stuff is involved that can break down.
Now that this diversion from my Boarhound project is done, I think I will take a break from building and concentrate on painting the 11 finished projects I have that only need paint. That's my plan if I can make the voices in my head stop telling me to think about doing the
French heavy tank Char 2C, which is a huge nightmare with rivets.
And the M 38 with the Chaffee turret
