You are correct that the CG is ahead of the wing tube. The balance point from measurements off the plans was 4" back from the LE. I called Doug at D&L Designs to confirm this and he assured me that this was correct. It will be a good starting point, which may be altered after tests of the initial flight. Good catch, as many people seem to think the wing tube or spar is always the balance point...
