My gun barrels were made with brass tubing. Used a drill press to cut the vent holes in the tube.
No I did not scuff up the presto, Most of the surface on Marge is Polished Aluminium so the presto was a perfect match. On the wing I did leave a gap and brushed black chalk in the gap to give it the look of a panel line. You can scuff presto, I would recommend buying a roll and give it a try to see if its the look you want.
