We'd just trick the kid (you) into getting down and getting it for us. Toss a silver dollar on the floor in front of you on the floor in front of the lumber rack. When you bent down to get it, kick you in the rear before you straightened up. And say " hey kid since your down there, get that piece of wood"
I think i would enjoy kick the kid even more than collecting the piece of wood!!
