Some progress has been made, but before I post the update on my MBT 70 project, I am thinking about starting a thread about "Helpful Hobby Hints", starting with the subject "Safety is Good".
HHH #1. When using a Dremel tool with a circular saw blade spinning at 30,000 rpm, be careful so that it doesn't kick back and come in contact with any fingers on your left hand. Since the razor sharp very thin blade is rotating at warp speed, you won't even feel the intrusion into the digit that opposes your thumb until you begin to wonder why your work surface is turning red with a warm sticky liquid. Find the source of what has caused this messy situation and take the proper steps to correct it immediately. A formica work surface and white styrene will wash off nicely with warm soapy water.
And now, for the update photos.. I am done building the big parts and will be moving on to the medium and small details soon, unless there are any more unforeseen mishaps.
It's weird where you can find tank parts sometimes ..... I opened the door on my refrigerator and saw a small tank turret for an MBT 70 ...... WOW. It was made by that famous German weapons manufacturer ------ H.J. Heinz ----- and it fits pretty good, but not perfect. It looked like a shortcut that would save me some time and allow me to ketchup because I am behind schedule building this project.. But the turret I need has a split hatch cover, so I might as well just build one.
