The pollution is just upstream, at a nuclear facility, coal burning plant, etc. Electric gives folks the 'warm and fuzzies' because they never see the mess it takes to get it provided. Kinda the same with petrol or glow where the facility to refine or make the fuel is far and away for most of us and we never see the mess it can make! 'Wet' power just puts some of the mess back onto the consumer. Petro is still the most efficient when you get down to the brass tax of it all!!!!!
The German auto makers laughed at our electric cars due to the fact that most of the electricity generated in the U S is from coal fired power plants. They claim their "clean diesel" technology creates less polution than electric cars.
