Pete,

You got slow. Irregardless of you being upwind, downwind, crosswind...the feedback to your transmitter from the elevator and ailerons will remain the same. If it starts feeling mushy ETC...you are too slow. Sometimes we forget to practice slow flight...and how it feels...it's good once and a while to brush up on landing configuration slowflight because we tend to commonly overlook it.
