My mortar was not intended to be accurate model of a 50mm mortar. It was built to kinda look like one. I built it out of stuff I found in the kitchen ..... a drinking straw, some wooden swizzle sticks andsome styrene, whatever I could find. A Google search for 50mm mortar will give you ideas on how to do an accurate copy of a real one if you want. I find everything I need on Google these days, from photos, to statistics and three line drawings to build what I want. then I do a lot of eyeball measuring and build something that looks right".
