This is an excellent point. The term "drone" is defined in the eye of the beholder, as it is not defined in black law, or FAA/AMA policy. Some modelers who fly FPV like to refer to their toys as drones, while some do not. Many authors in online and print articles use this term heavily, while others refuse to do so.
Call your aircraft whatever you want. Just be safe, and try not to hurt or kill anyone.
To paraphrase some old English guy: "A drone is a drone is a drone, a drone by any other name would fly the same" As far as I am concerned, let's take November's advice and use any term you want, and let's go flying.
