I don't think I could have made better choices for my first jet and I owe some of you on this site a heartfelt thanks. In all that time the the jet has been superb, the gear has been flawless, approx. 170 flights now in a little over a year. Flew it a dozen times during the two day event. In all that time I have had one flame out between my two Cheetah's, and one pilot induced snap roll resulting in an upside down landing on my 16th flight due to me flaring to a 45 degree nose high landing attitude 3 feet off the ground, do not do that! There is definitely a limit to the flare attitude you should allow when landing the Hawk, it is not an F16... But replacement parts from CARF are inexpensive and readily available, it is a tough bird and can take a lot of punishment and can be repaired.
As for the rabbit ears they are simple enough to mount. stick em where you want them and use a dry erase type marker to outline. Grind or file away a bit of the underlying paint inside that edge. I tacked mine in place with thin CA and made a filet of Hysol inside to fix them in place and avoid any CA runs on my beautiful finish. Then mask the edge 3mm or so either side with green 3M auto trim masking tape ( the thin width goes around corners easily). Airbrush with CARF touch up paint. Done! I stuffed some black foam into them that fills them and so you don't see a dumb white scoop to no where inside there. I did not cut holes into my fuselage to create working scoops, absolutely no need IMHO.

Pretty cool husafreak! You deserve it. Your jet is just way cool and you fly it like you stole it!
