What I can add about the firmware update is that the boot time with the USB stick plugged on the transmitter and loaded with the new firmware is 1 minute longer. Update loading took 1 min 40 seconds for me.
Shutdown after home screen appearance was about 8 seconds.
The consecutive boot was 38 seconds and firmware page showed the following:
