My way of thinking is if the engine ran good before the bump, the needle lever should not have been changed. Look for a bad diaphram or miss assembled parts. Take carb apart & take H & L needles out and make sure all passages ways are clear. Hold the diaphram up to a bright light to see if it got damaged from removal.
