Of the two...neither. Get 'em The Frog. I'm just joking. The Frog was my first hobby grade RC and I loved those Tamiya cars so much back then. They still appeal to me still to this day. If I had to choose, I'd get the Wild One. It has the 540 motor vs the smaller 380 motor in the Grasshopper (at least they did back in the day). The Wild One has independent suspension and better tires. Oh, and those shocks on the Wild One look better than the springs on the Grasshopper.

Just my opinion. Either way the kid is gonna win.
