RE: When do you start competing P05?
For all practical purposes the P-03 schedules are dead. The worlds is done. I find it very hard to go out and work at improving a sequence that is dead.
On the other hand most guys are not gearing their flying or practice around the Worlds. They are flying and holding events that are after the World Championships...I have been to 3 events since the Worlds...We have flown P-03. I think its better on the judges, contest people and the flyers that have been flying P-03 all year long.
I would say a neat way is to get all the pilots to agree to fly P-05 and then go fly it...For some it will be a Semi-unknown and for others it will be something they have flown before....Might be a fun Experience for you guys.
Consider this, There are a couple different versions floating around out there.....One shows a Figure 9 on P-05.17 and its really a Humpty exit mid level per the FAI documents, and I have seen an inverted 4pt roll later in the sequence when the FAI documents Call it a 3/4 slow roll from inverted and the description clearly describes 3/4 slow rolls in reversed directions. I'm sure as we get closer to the 2004 season these minor things will be cleaned up.
The FAI website doesn't have any Aresti for the 2005-2007 sequences but Chad Northeast was in Poland and they handed some out...The Aresti documents Chad Posted on this forum are correct with the FAI documents on the web site.....I would suspect these Aresti documents will be available via the FAI site soon.
I have been flying P-05 and F-05 almost exclusively since about August in practice....and flying P-03 at the events.
