Yep, wont hurt it one bit as long as your fuel tank centerline is even with the carb spraybar. If too high it will flood the engine. Some guys like to offset it just a bit so the exhaust rocker is straight down. The FG-11 manual prefers an inverted installation.

No problem, in fact I linked to one I use in all my gas planes, wouldn't want to fly without one. I get mine from badbradgraphics, same model, but only $15, and shipping is something like $3 as long as it fits in a standard envelope.
