Default Help Losi 350 engine

I started thread in buggy section that seems like mainly electric so making another here.

I have a Losi 8 2.0 RTR that I bought shortly before the Losi 5t came out and I never touched it after getting the 5t at release day. I ran fuel out of it and put after run oil in it then let it sit for years now. I took the body off the other day and noticed that some of the screws had flash rusted when we had extreme temp changes last month. Most of my tools flash rusted in the garage that were brand new along with a few parts on my buggy and 5t. So I wanted to get the buggy running before tearing down and replacing screws with stainless set. That's where the problem became apparent. I couldn't even get the engine to prime.

Ive read that all it takes is either blowing into the muffler fuel line or bumping it while putting finger over exhaust. No need in any throttle, correct? Well it wouldn't prime either way. It was just like trying to blow into a soda bottle. Full of compression. When I bumped the motor on the box my finger would get stuck to exhaust from suction. So that pretty much ruled out bad fuel lines and anything to do with the fuel tank. I took lines off and inspected anyway. All were good.

Then I took carb needles out and checked for any gum through air intake. All is clean. Then I put blew fuel up into carb with needles barely in and then tightened them down a little and it started right up and ran until I plugged exhaust. It was on my kitchen counter so as I wasn't expecting it to start right up even though I got it primed so I didn't let it run for more than a few seconds.

So what do I do now? Was it one of my needles or what that wasn't allowing it to prime. Should I just put them at stock positions and try to get it primed then mess with them again or am I totally doing the wrong thing? I'm a total noob to nitro as I only put about a half gallon through it before switching to the 5t.

Any help would be great as I've searched what could cause a motor not to prime and don't have any air leaks and motor is good.
