I can get Blenderm around here from the local medical supply store, and still use it to tape up things. The idea of the gap seal is it creates a very slick wiper to cover the gap even when the surface is deflected. I would think that the blenderm tape would flex inward when the surface is deflected, instead of continuing the contour of the main portion of the wing.
