Best engines for this plane that I've seen is the DLE55RA and the XYZ53. I have the regular DLE55 in mine swinging a 22/8 prop. I tried the 22-10 also. This plane lands at a crawl and those that have it can agree that she's a gentle giant. Even with the 22-10, landing were the same but performance was a little different at my altitude. I know of a gent with a EME 60 in his and he likes it. They're practically the same size. I have another ESM kit awaiting to be built only when I destroy this one..
Vertical, how does the prop effect your landings if you have the planes idle set correctly? I know they effect your flight and take offs due to thrust? Upon landing, for this plane, ( most warbirds) I'm at 1/4 or less on approach and then Idle over the runway. At that point, the prop is almost useless as when I initially setup my planes idle on the ground, it doesn't move. You can have a large prop on your plane as long as it doesn't damage your engine. I'd suggest sticking with the recommendations specs of the engine. OR master three point landings first...
Anyway, here is my on topic ESM FW190D along with my off topic, soon to be maidened, custom Meister scale 103inch D13. I'm repairing some last season damage and finally weathering the ESM D9 after the guys at the field told me she looked too clean to be a FW190..
