Jame, I have never run one of the Evolution engines but it could be that like the 3W and DA ignitions you need a minimum RPM to get a spark. This is done for safety reasons. It you had the plug out but connected and just moved the magnet past the sensor it may not spark like an RCEXL or DLE unit would. Did you drain the tank completly before storage? The flexible parts in your carb could be dried out. What I would do in your position would be to dribble a little petrol in the plug hole and see if you can get it to pop that way. If it does pop and quits then the next step would be to take apart the carb and soak the soft parts in petrol for an hour or two and the reassemble the carb. Be careful not to disturb the metering lever adjustment but you will want to verify that the metering needle is not stuck on its seat.
